Kitchen Remodeling

Before we even moved into this house (1993), we knew we would be remodeling the very limiting and outdated kitchen area. In 1999 we made it happen. The pictures shown here represent the "Before and After" look of the kitchen.

My wife and I designed the entire project and I made the CAD drawings for a firm plan. All of the remodeling work was completed by me. Well, I can't take full credit for the ceramic tile floor, as I performed the cutting while my wife did the fitting. She's very talented too!

General Work included demolition of the old kitchen, installation of a new skylight, wall and base cabinet installation, and ceramic tile floor installation.

Electrical work included dedicated circuit installation (refrig, microwave, disposer), new duplex outlet installations, and recessed lighting installation.

Plumbing work included installation of the new sink and fixture, all new supply and drain piping under the sink, and dishwasher re-install. Also, the gas service was modified to suit the new stove location.

Basement Phase II

Before

After
The overall size of the room is 14'-0" x 9'-0". The old kitchen was very dark. The half-wall was very confining and there were too few cabinets.

Before

After
The old kitchen made very inefficient use of space. The new kitchen is much brighter, functional, and more appealing to modern kitchen demands. Note the skylight at top of photo.

This was a much needed improvement to the house and it's value to us. Note the patio doors in the background replaced an old window in the dining room. We are very pleased with the outcome and functionality of our new kitchen!
