Basement Remodeling - Phase II

Phase 2 - Basement Bath (Spring 2003)
With the recent Entertainment Room improvements, it is necessary to complete the basement package with a new bathroom, coat closet, and laundry room.

This section of the basement is 6'-8" x 6'-5". It was an unfinished area with exposed foundation walls and bare concrete floor.

General work included framing, insulating, drywall application, and painting. Electrical work included light fixture, receptacle, and exhaust fan installation.

Plumbing work included modifications and additions to existing water supply, and installation of new drain piping for toilet and shower;(sink drain was existing). The dryer and associated gas supply were relocated to provide room for the new closet.

Basement Phase II

Here is the area ready to receive new work. An existing sink was removed and an existing basement window (below grade) was blocked in.
I excavated the existing concrete floor to install new 4" and 2" PVC drains. Framing is complete, plumbing rough-in is complete.
Completed framing and electrical rough-in; Floor patched and leveled; Drywall installation in progress.

The finished bathroom with ceramic tile floor, pedestal sink, corner shower stall, and toilet.
The picture at right shows the new closet (mirror sliding doors) and the new laundry room access (bi-fold doors).
The next project will be the basement stairs. The new stairs will have rubber stair treads (full width of stair), painted stringers, knotty pine risers and walls, and a lighted railing. I'm planning to complete this project by Spring 2005.
